Polyvalente de Charlesbourg x 104 + Diplôme avant la médaille (DAM)

The 104 Foundation is proud to have been able to help young people from the Polyvalente de Charlesbourg high school in Quebec City to experience a basketball clinic given by players from the Rouge et Or from the University of Laval in Quebec, in collaboration with the organization Diplôme avant la médaille !

History

The 104 Foundation offered 4 scholarships to Rouge et Or basketball student-athletes in 2022-2023. To select the 4 recipients (2 women & 2 men) of the “104” scholarship, the 104 Foundation implemented the following process:

Interested Rouge et Or basketball student-athletes had to send us a letter or a video in which they had to address themselves when they were 14 years old. They then had to describe the actions that they had taken and which had had a positive impact on themselves or on the people around them.

The objectives of such an approach?

The first was to get to know the student-athletes first.

Then, it was a matter of identifying those who had demonstrated resilience, proactivity, commitment and a positive attitude throughout their journey.

This is how the 4 recipients of the scholarship104 were selected:

Léa-Sophie Verret

Tara Imbert

Seydou Sall

Simon Giguère

For the 104 Foundation, it was therefore important that these four selected student-athletes could get involved and give back to their community to inspire the youngest to engage themselves in the pursuit of their studies through practice of a sport.

Thanks to Diplôme avant la médaille for organizing this lunchtime activity to the delight of Polyvalente de Charlesbourg students!

104 is proud to have been able to help Léa-Sophie, Tara, Seydou and Simon pursue their studies! We wish them every success in their future endeavors!
